Major Railway Projects Announced in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar

The Union Cabinet announced two big railway projects costing ₹6,798 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar on Thursday.
In Bihar, they will double the railway lines from Narkatiaganj to Raxaul, Sitamarhi, and Darbhanga, covering 256 km. This will help Uttar Pradesh and North Bihar and run near the Nepal border.

This project will cost ₹2,245 crore and improve travel between central and north India and south India.
It will also make it easier to visit important places like the Amarlingeswara Swamy Temple and the Undavalli Caves, and will include a 3 km bridge over the Krishna River.
The railway projects will create 19 lakh workdays and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 6 crore kg, which is like planting 25 lakh trees.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said these projects are not connected to politics, even though the BJP works with local parties.
